In the’80s, a few college students, keeping in mind their obligation towards the society took a vow of social work. Initially, they started work on several factors of the society through their Ganesh Mandal. They organized blood donation camps, medical camps, and created a strong base for their obsession through such projects. Thisobsession gave birth to ‘Swaroopseva.’
All members of the group were driven. Each of them worked relentlessly for the growth of Swaroopseva, balancing it with their jobs, businesses, and families. They organized various activities with an intention to solve the problems of the deprived in the society, to make sure they get help and lead a happy and healthy life. Swaroopseva created strong and long-lasting relations with different organizations by carrying out numerous activities like picnics for the young and adultdifferently-abled citizens, celebrating festivals like ‘KojagiriPournima’ with kids from orphanages, organizing happiness camps for the amusement and pastime of the unsupported elderly, etc.
The highlight of such exuberating journey was ‘Swaroop Award.’ People who worked selflessly for the cause were felicitated with ‘Swaroop Award.’ The ‘unsung heroes’ who, on a personal level worked tirelessly for the many important but neglected issues of the society like the blind and the differently-abled, orphans, elders who needed help, preservation of nature, etc. were praised by giving them the ‘Swaroop Award.’
Even in comfortable city life, one needs a breather, a few moments of peace and even some entertainment occasionally. One longs for a change in the daily routine. Unfortunately, for the ignored components of the society, it is a rare occurrence. The members of Swaroopseva decided to try and work towards making it possible for such people of the society, to try and bring happiness in the lives of the deprived. But how was this to be achieved? Brainstorming! Out of this, the idea of building an ‘Anandvan,’ a place where even the deprived could be happy, started to take roots. A disciplined outline and plan were created. Many obstacles and questions arose along the way; their solutions were also obtained. During this time, the leaders donated their lands to the organization. Just around 17 kilometers from Pune, near the village Bhukum, in Khatpewadi, 23 gunthe (25,000 sq.ft.) of organization owned land became available.
Members of Swaroopseva slowly started creating different facilities at this location. The area has become very cheerful and pleasant due to the picturesque scenery around the ‘Sitamai Hill’, the natural beauty near the origin of the river ‘Ramnadi’, a small temple of Shri Ganesh in the land, the carefully planned plantation of trees and the presence of various animals and birds in the vicinity. This project is taking shape in the rightful land of the organization, which has the availability of facilities like 24-hour water supply, power supply, and a favorable approach road.
Considering all the positive things, a ‘Second home’ named ‘Madhurangan’ has been developed here for the deprived. This ‘Second home’ is going to be very special. This project would be for the rightful happy life of the orphans,differently-abled, elderly, and underprivileged. During their stay here, they should soak in the joy to the heart’s content, spend their days as they wish, forget about their grief and while leaving, take a bagful of happiness with them. These positive vibes will help them to get back on their feet. Only with this aim is ‘Madhurangan’ being built.
‘Madhurangan’ will have a home with modern facilities, and a place to house 35 people at the same time. The blueprint of how exactly ‘Madhurangan’ is going to be has been attached herewith. We are doing our best to turn this concept into a reality, and we request you to participate in the creation of ‘Madhurangan’ with your heart and soul. We have also attached herewith the estimation for the expenditure for ‘Madhurangan.’ You have been supporting us for many years, now once again, do become a part of this family.
